Respect! Relax! Respond! This is the battle cry of today's young woman! Okay…but what does it mean? In full, Respect yourself, take time to Relax, and Respond to your surroundings. In short, be empowered! Be empowered to take pride in yourself and your womanhood! Be empowered to try things that you've never even dreamed of doing! Be empowered to change the world for the better! How? Let 3R show you!!
3R is a television program hosted by 3 young & smart female Hosts, dealing with young women's issues (Don't be scared! These can be anything from rape to relationships, from menstruation to money, from sexuality to sports!) Besides that, 3R also feature female personalities, activities for today's young woman, and knowledge in information technology.
3R however is much more than a TV programme. 3R goes beyond the TV screen to do outreach programmes. The three hosts go to schools and workplaces to conduct workshops on rape and self-defense, on sexual harassment and on reproductive and sexual health, in collaboration with women’s NGOs. On International Women’s Day, 3R organizes, again with women’s NGOs and the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, a major event focusing on the topic of Violence against Women at major shopping centres such as Suria KLCC, MidValley MegaMall and in Kuching, Sarawak. Girls attending these events are able to obtain information on many women’s issues from booths set up by NGOs such as Women’s Aid Organisation, AWAM, Sisters-in-Islam, Amnesty International and the Malaysian AIDS Council. Various celebrities provide entertainment with messages on stopping violence against women. Some 40,000 young women (and men) have attended these events.
In Season 14, the key focus is about empowering young women to proactively respond to their right of feeling and being safe; in their homes, in their relationships, in their schools, in their work place, in their community, in their state, in their country and in society.
